David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.

The comedian

Prolific writer for children and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.

A representative for the publisher said: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the move was made after an investigation into claims about inappropriate behaviour involving female individuals.

The firm has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, boasting over more than 60 million copies globally in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

He has published more than 40 books in total, which features a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.

This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
